Well! Here we are in March, our third Jelly Church of the year. 3 down 9 to go!
As usual our afternoon started with tea, consisting of pizza, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, chicken nuggets and cakes together with a drink and of course some jelly.
Our craft for this month was to decorate a jam jar with flowers. We provided stick on jewels, hearts, and additional stickers which said ‘Mothers Day’ or just ‘For Mum’ and with 17 children in attendance together with their parents everyone became creative.
When all the jars were finished Father Charlie said a short prayer.
As the children left they were each given a bunch of daffodils to be put in their jars with the hope that they would last until the following Sunday 19th which is Mothers Day. Each child was also given either a book to read or a book containing stickers together with a chocolate cream egg which were kindly donated by one of our parishioners.
Because Easter falls on the second Sunday of the month, next months JELLY CHURCH will be held on Sunday 2nd April (the first Sunday) where we will make gardens on a plate to represent the gardens of Gethsemane in Jerusalem. Each child will be given an Easter Picture to take home and colour. They will be asked to bring them back at 10.00am on Good Friday 7th April where they will be judged and a prize given for the best.
Additionally on Good Friday they will be given small crosses to place on their gardens and of course a Hot Cross Bun plus an Easter Egg.
See you all on the 2nd April at 3.30pm and again on the 7th April at 10.00am.
