Jelly Church – February 2024

Jelly Church – February 2024

Jelly Church – February 2024 150 150 Sutterton Parish Church

14th February

As normal we started the session with our Jelly Church tea consisting of Pizza, Cocktail Sausages, Sausage Rolls, Crisps, Small Chocolate Cakes with icing and a white chocolate button on top (yummy), a drink and of course a big bright wobbly Jelly. It just would not be Jelly Church without the Jelly.

The Revd Richard Eyre, a retired vicar, joined us.

Our Craft for this month was to turn empty jam jars, pickle jars etc. into stunning vases. About 12 children were in attendance and were helped by their parents. Using special glass paint everybody got stuck in and each jar was turned into a masterpiece for the mantle at home.

When the painting was complete a ribbon was added to each jar. With children of various ages we ended up with paint everywhere, not only on the jars but on fingers, tables and floor, but who cares; we had made our vases and had fun doing it.

Whilst this was going on the Revd Richard circulated and talked with all the children and their parents.
On completion of the decorating, each child was given some daffodils to put into their newly decorated vases which they took home with them. As some of the jars had not dried, plastic bags were provided to carry the jars home.

At the end The Revd Richard gathered the children together for a little prayer before departing.
A good time was had by all.

Jelly Church:  March

Next Month’s Jelly Church will be held on the 10th March (2nd Sunday) at the usual time of 3.30pm. As Jelly Church this month coincides with ‘Mothers Day’ we will attempt some flower arranging, making a small table decoration for Mum plus a Mothers Day card. As always we shall have the Jelly Church tea

See you all on the 10th March 2024 at 3.30pm – THE JELLY CHURCH CREW
