Jelly Church: Dec and Jan Update

Jelly Church: Dec and Jan Update

Jelly Church: Dec and Jan Update 150 150 Sutterton Parish Church

Its December and that means its Christmas time.

Due to a number of the Jelly Church team being unavailable on the 2nd Sunday of the Month, we had to reschedule our ‘JELLY CHURCH PARTY’ to the 1st Sunday.

Party means fun and games and over 20 children plus their parents turned out for this annual event

The tea was a suitable festival feast with Christmas decorations, Christmas crackers plus Sandwiches, Sausages, Sausage Rolls, lovely iced cakes a drink and of course Jelly. Once the food was eaten and the crackers pulled it was time to start the party.

First of all we decorated our Christmas Tree with the decorations that we had made in November together with some additional baubles and Christmas lights.

We then played ‘Musical Chairs’ which was fast and furious. Using the church sound system we played joyful Christmas music. We followed this with ‘Pass the Parcel’. Our parcel was huge and as each layer of wrapping was removed there was a packet of Haribo sweets to be had and the last wrapping contained a chocolate Father Christmas. Each child in the circle managed to get a packet of the Haribo sweets.

Canon Sudharshan came for a while to wish the children a Happy Christmas.

We then also had a visit from Alison & John Ramsden, who are good friends of the church and attend services whenever possible and they handed out books telling the Christmas story to each child. In addition each child went home with a Christmas chocolate selection pack.

A good time had by all.

Next Months Jelly Church will be held on the 14th January (2nd Sunday) at the usual time of 3.30pm. This month we will be making and decorating pencil holders and as always we shall have the Jelly Church tea
